Extracted from the flowers of the plant, Evening Primrose is the most precious plant oil in our laboratory. It is very supportive to the skin and is considered a rejuvenating and regenerating oil that is easily absorbed and seems to penetrate into deeper layers of the skin. It is very rich in Linoleic Acid, the Omega 6 essential fatty acid that is considered key to maintaining good moisture levels in the skin and resulting skin health. It is a bit viscous and most high-end natural body care recipes ask for up to 10%. Even a smaller amount is said to result in healthier, more balanced skin. Sold as a supplement, it is valued for its high content of Gamma-linolenic acid, vitamins and minerals.
Soap Making
Due to its high price, this oil is not commonly used in soap making. You may, however, add a few drops at the last minute along with your Essential Oils, to create a luxuriously "super fatted" bar of soap.
Composition of Evening Primrose Oil:
- Linoleic Acid 65-75%

- Palmitic Acid 5-8%
